You can follow Me but its gonna hurt!
An A-Z guide to better living following Jesus

There has always been a tension between following Jesus and following the ways of the world. We each have the freedom of choice to pick who our guide in life will be. The easy wide-open way of the world or the four-wheel drive narrow winding road that leads to adventure and wonder that is the path to Heaven on Earth, with Jesus at the wheel guiding us all along.
YOU CAN FOLLOW ME, BUT IT’S GONNA HURT
Marcus Aurelius is remembered as saying, “The obstacle is the way.” Following Jesus is not easy. Some might call an obstacle, but He is the way! The Way also just happens to be what Jesus followers were called before they were called Christians.
These words are for anyone who already is or is considering following Jesus.

This is  great book for those that love Jesus or who have taken the steps in that direction. It shows applicable everyday life lessons of how to turn your love for Jesus into action. This book is a starting point we can all use to follow Jesus and although the journey is difficult it brings about greater strength in the end and helps develop a closer relationship with Jesus - Scott M.

Good solid advice for the Chritian navigating life in the times we are in and the times to come. Cuts through some of the "Christ-Speak" we sometimes fall into at church. - Ronnie B.

If you’re going to follow someone, you need to have a good leader. Brucks leads his readers through a guide to better living that is down to earth and in everyday language. He warns us before starting that it is going to hurt. You will see where you may be falling short and what you can do to enjoy living. He’s not preachy but backs things up with scripture and personal experience. It’s a good read and worth your time.  Jim C.

An honest journey of life as a Christian male. Some, in society, have chosen to view masculinity through a negative lens. In reality, men need the male experience of Christ to fulfill what is lacking in organized religion. Your words have inspired me to inspire others through Christ.  Rhyan A.

Honest. Transparent. Ways to apply faith to real living will touch many men . I was one of the first to read Art's book, "You can follow me but its gonna hurt".  The book is a pretty accurate description of Art's life, one where faith and living life to its greatest potential collide.  Art isn't satisfied with less.  In the book we discover how Art integrates a deep and personal faith story of experiencing grace with living life to the fullest.  If you want to be inspired to aim at faith and living life to the fullest, this is the book to read.  by the way, I followed Art up the South Rim at Big Bend, and it did hurt. Mike R.

This book was engaging all the way through. It was real and encouraging, honest and convicting in a tactfully positive way. This Jesus follower has a gift of sharing the gospel in a way that will attract others to come to know the Truth of this world. Thank you Art Brucks for putting your thoughts to paper. I really enjoyed your writing and have been inspired to live better by following Jesus. Darryl B.

This book is a great read and tool for study. The chapters are based on the alphabet which makes each chapter (or two) easy to read and absorb.
I especially enjoyed the author’s personal stories. Some might consider giving a copy to a person struggling with life’s storms - might provide the needed anchor. Donnie S.

The mix of illustrations, life experiences, humor, insight, and theology made it informative and deeply spiritual. The tone in which the book was written is love. I was able to grasp the profound principles you were trying to present. There are some true gems of wisdom discretely buried in the middle of a paragraph. Mining for those gems kept me wanting to search each sentence and every word in every chapter. A follow up men’s devotional or and study guide for You Can Follow Me, But it’s Gonna Hurt might be in order. When I began reading, I started off highlighting some of the power phrases that touched my heart but when I looked back it was so yellow I might as well highlighted EVERY sentence. Randy P.

Insightful, organized, well researched and easy to read. He opens his life out to us and ties in Biblical scripture and connects with relateability. John H.

A meaningful, humerous and thought provoking guide - i could easily identify with his memories and illustrations in his journey - I highly recommend this book to all my family and friends. Art has assembled his own thoughts, memories, and experinces into an easy read that is relatable to anyone.  - Duane B.

I've known Art for a long time -- this book is so good -- I thought "Did Art really write this?" I know he did and I think you will enjoy it as I did - Kyle M.
